Center for victims of sexual violence

Center for victims of sexual violence operates within WR and it is the only specialized service for survivors of any form of sexual violence in the Republic of Croatia. Within the Center, different, free of charge, services are provided for adults, children older than 16, and their close ones. The Center’s main goal is to advance survivors’ quality of life. 

Within the Center, a multi-disciplinary team of female experts provides free of charge, timely and easily accessible assistance and support to survivors of sexual violence and their close ones. The Center provides following services:

  • Support in reporting sexual violence 
  • Counseling: legal, psychological, informing on available services in health sector;
  • Psychotherapy aiming to work through traumatic experience;
  • Preparation for a court procedure;
  • Accompaniment of survivors by staff in the role of confidential persons to all relevant institutions during court procedure (accompaniment to the police, hospital, state prosecution office, court, social welfare centers) by staff in the role of confidential person; 
  • Informing and counseling persons who are close ones to survivors;
  • Drafting and printing different educational and informative materials for survivors of sexual violence.
